ENGLAND have a real chance of leveling the saeries against India following a good day at the crease led by Mark Butcher.
Butcher has a gut feeling England win the second Test against India at Motera.
The Surrey opener, who overcame a different kind of stomach problem to set up the opportunity, is well-placed to make the assessment, having spent more than seven hours at the crease in the City of Dust. Butcher gritted out a second-innings 92 from 202 balls, despite his sickness bug as England were finally dismissed for 257.
Now India, who closed on 17 without loss, face a task they have only once achieved before, scoring more than 300 to win a Test match. No side has ever registered more than 276 to secure victory in the fourth innings on these shores and should they reach the 374-run target, it would eclipse Australia's successful chase against Pakistan in Hobart two years ago, the third-highest in history, by five runs.
