A PENSIONER was robbed as she walked home from Darwen town centre.
The woman, aged 77, was walking along Ellinson Fold Terrace at 5.55pm on Wednesday when two men pulled her shopping bag from her.
DS Ian Critchley, of Darwen CID, said: "They approached her and almost knocked her to the ground and ran off with her shopping bag."
The bag contained £98 as well as an umbrella and an apron.
One robber was described as around 20 years old and 5ft, 9in.
It is believed he was wearing a lady's beige nylon rain-hat and a dark anorak.
The other was 5ft 9in and wore a beige jacket and light baseball cap.
DS Critchley said: "We are treating this incident seriously, especially in view of this lady's age.
The men preyed on someone who was vulnerable, which meant they could steal the bag with ease.
"Anyone who might have any information about this incident - for example, if they have heard somebody bragging about it - should call us on 353841."
