A COMPANY is set to create extra jobs after buying out a neighbouring engineering firm.
PJP (UK) Ltd, based in Mill Street, Radcliffe, has acquired nearby Radcliffe Engineering Services for an undisclosed sum.
Radcliffe Engineering Services, in Milltown Street, had been a supplier to PJP for many years, and has retained eight staff following the move.
Bosses at PJP, which has a 60-strong workforce, said the purchase was a crucial step in its expanding portfolio of services to the UK construction industry. Ten new jobs are in the pipeline.
Its well-established plant hire, sales and parts divisions are all run from adjacent buildings at the Radcliffe site.
Managing director Colin Power said: "Radcliffe Engineering Services had been a valued supplier of ours for many years, and they have always impressed us with the quality of their design, fabrication and service.
"They have developed an impressive niche, supplying specialist equipment to the brewery industry, but they were also able to meet the increasing demands that PJP made on the business as we have grown."
John Green, former managing director of Radcliffe Engineering Services (now renamed PJP Engineering Services) said: "PJP has both the ambitions and the resources necessary to take this business onto the next stage.
"I am delighted to become a director of the new business, and that all of my employees are now settled in our new home."
