A COWARDLY thief attacked a 91-year-old woman in a Radcliffe street and robbed her of £10.
The thug approached the woman from behind and pushed her to the ground causing her to bang her head and also suffer a minor leg injury.
The robbery happened at 2.40pm on Friday (Dec 14) in Lord Street.
It is believed the offender got out of a grey or silver car which was occupied by two other males. He struck the woman from behind with such force that she fell to the floor.
The thief grabbed her handbag and jumped back into the car.
The victim was taken to Fairfield General Hospital for treatment to her injuries. She was later allowed to return home.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the street robbery to contact Whitefield CID on 856 8248 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
