A COMMUNITY centre at the heart of Bury's Springs estate has undergone a facelift thanks to Prince's Trust volunteers.
Nine volunteers, aged between 16 and 25, were involved in the project at the Springs estate residents' centre off Essex Drive.
Previously, the Prince's Trust had organised various events to raise £250, much of which went towards the cost of the work.
Trust team leader Ian Smith said: "This project was part of our 12-week course for our volunteers to earn their key skills certificates by carrying out work in the community.
"We reglossed the lounge and repapered it and also painted the activity room. We obtained software for the computer.
"Volunteers painted the hall, woodwork and all the walls and, outside, they repainted the path, front door and handrail. The work was carried out over a couple of days each week for a fortnight."
