A MAN in his 40s was threatened by two Asian men with a knife in Nelson town centre yesterday afternoon.
Police said the man had been window shopping at 2.45pm and was at the corner of Forest Street and Scotland Road, near The Bull pub, when he was approached by the two men.
DC Tony Morris said: "He was approached from behind as he was looking in a side window of Dysons Arts shop in Scotland Road. They held a knife to him and asked for his money. He was not injured but is very shaken up."
The pair escaped with the man's wallet containing £220 and ran off down Forest Street towards Every Street.
One man was described as 5ft 10ins, in his early 20s, stocky build, clean shaven, wearing a black woollen hat, red thigh length sports jacket with white stripes across the shoulders and down the sleeves, black track suit bottoms with three white stripes down the leg and black trainers also with three white stripes.
His accomplice was said to be 6ft, in his mid 20s, slim, clean shaven, with very short almost shaved hair, wearing a black waist length leather or PVC jacket, blue jeans and black leather boots.
