RESIDENTS living within the proposed 20 mph zone in the Rutland Street area of Colne will soon receive details of the scheme.
It was the only Pendle scheme to be successful in receiving funding from Lancashire County Council, which was partly due to a traffic calming scheme in Rutland Street already having been funded by the borough council and also due to the location of Park Primary School within the bid area.
The project, which has been allocated £34,500 from the county council, is likely to involve the introduction of a series of road humps and a junction table, as well as the 20 mph zone signs.
Streets which will receive road humps include Gordon Street, Keighley Road, Charles Street, Granville Street, York Street, Portland Street, Dudley Street, Sefton Street and Ellesmere Avenue, with a junction table at the corner of Ellesmere Avenue and Bradley Street.
Members of the public will be given the opportunity to comment on the proposals and if necessary a residents' meeting may be called.
