A SAMLESBURY pub has turned into quite a family affair now that Gerry and Lesley Clark have joined son Terry Tumulty at the Nabs Head.
Gerry, 53, and Lesley, 43, were well known as the landlord and landlady of the Traders Arms, Mellor, which they left in September. But the pair are firmly reinstated now in the Nabs Head Lane pub which Terry took over in January.
And the trio have also welcomed another new arrival with head chef David Firth who cooked up many a treat in his former position at Crofters Hotel in Garstang.
David's expertise will mean a number of additions to the current menu although old favourites will remain too. Speaking about the move Gerry said: "I was brought up in the trade so it's great to be back. I taught Terry, so it's pretty different taking orders from him now but I'm happy to take a back seat."
The move is also proving strange for Gerry's other two sons Anthony, 21, and Stuart, 15, who are living in a house for the first time after growing up in various public houses.
One of the main things the couple are now looking forward to though is catching up with their old customers whom they served for four and a half years -- and they are providing the perfect opportunity on New Year's Day.
Gerry and Lesley were well known for their Champagne brunches and have taken the tradition with them to the Nags Head to toast in 2002 with their new friends and hopefully some old ones too.
