ELLIOT Reed was arrested after challenging a nightclub bouncer to fight and refusing to leave when requested by the police.

Blackburn magistrates heard that the incident occurred because of a case of mistaken identity and it had left Reed feeling embarrassed and ashamed.

Reed, 24, of Rogersfield, Langho, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £40 costs. He was fined £50 after pleading guilty to failing to answer bail.

Neil White, prosecuting, said police saw Reed involved in a heated argument with a member of the door staff at Utopia nightclub in Blackburn. He invited the doorman to come down to the car park and fight and although he complied with two requests to leave he returned on both occasions and was eventually arrested.

Jonathon Taylor, defending, said Reed had been told by the bouncer that he had been refused entry the night before.
