MEMBERS of Rossendale White Ensign, former soldiers, will form a guard of honour for the funeral of Edith Howarth.
Mrs Howarth, 75, of Cemetery Road, Ramsbottom, died on Sunday after losing a long battle against cancer.
Her husband John is a past president of Rossendale White Ensign and she was a member of the ladies section.
Her funeral will be tomorrow at St Andrew's Church in Ramsbottom where she was a member of the mother's union.
Ex-servicemen will form a guard of honour at the church and the funeral will be followed by a cremation at Overdale, Bolton.
Mrs Howarth, a former shop assistant was very well known in Ramsbottom. She leaves a son Robert, daughter Jackie, grandchildren Roger and Debbie and cousins Philip and Ann.
There will be family flowers only but donations in lieu can be made to Ward 9 at Fairfield General Hospital, care of the funeral director, Booth and Wolstenholme.
