Christmas -- traditionally a time where giving is more important that receiving. So, with that in mind, I thought I'd take this opportunity to enter into the festive spirit and dish out some early gifts:

Fellow columnist Trevor Hanson: The Fixtures Secretary job for his 'East Lancashire Combination.' I'm sure he'd have fun trying to squeeze in all the games for 90 teams in just three divisions. Perhaps just Blackburn and Accrington merging their combinations would be easier (and safer).

Steve Tinniswood: Directions to the opposition's goal.

Neil Yates: An Empty box (well, when does a referee ever given YOU anything).

Quarry Bank Old Boys: A sense of humour. Recently dumped out of the Northern Cup by Witton, the cheeky chappies from Liverpool were the only scousers I'd ever met who didn't seem to enjoy a laugh. Apparently, us lot from "up North" are just a bunch of thugs. At least we call came back with our wheels.

St Matthew's, Rishton, Alexandra Hotel: A run of victories (see below).

Blackburn United: A personal organiser (complete with names and addresses of secretaries in Division Two).

St Mary's College Old Boys, Clarence Hotel: A Witton Albion team photo. Hopefully annoying enough to get one of you to come and enjoy our little encounters again (is that a chicken I hear clucking)?

Eddie Green (Marley's Wine Bar FC): A busy weekend at work for all your squad on February 9.

Witton Albion's squad: The same level of form in 2002 as in 2001 (only three defeats all year). Thanks everyone for all your efforts.

Finally may I wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a successful New Year (except against Witton!)
