PEOPLE can donate their unwanted glasses to the Help the Aged shop in School Street, Darwen.
The charity is running an appeal called World in Sight in which glasses which are useless to their owners can benefit the lives of people in developing countries.
So far the charity has collected 300 pairs of spectacles from around the county.
Lucienne Stephens, from Help the Aged, said: "We would like to thank everyone who responded to the appeal. These donated glasses bring not only improved vision but also independence, dignity and the chance of earning a livelihood again."
"Sight deterioration is natural with age and the world's older population is growing, particularly in developing countries."
Unwanted glasses can be handed in to the Darwen branch of Help the Aged. For further information on the appeal, call 0870 7700 446.
