FORMER Leyther Barbara Johnson is searching for a 50 years old Leigh market picture.
Writing to me from her home in the States, Barbara says as a 16-years-old she used to work at Collins and Darwell, the Leigh printers.
She was on the picture taken by a newspaper photographer but didn't get to a copy fast enough.
The picture was of stallholders on the old outdoor market, the group standing outside the Market Cafe by the town hall.
Her mum, nicknamed ' Little Ethel', is on the front row. She had the stall right on the corner next to Manfredi's ice cream cart and used to make and sell overalls and wrap- around aprons for mill workers.
If anyone can help they can bring it to me and I'll see Barbara gets a copy. Ah nostalgia, there's nothing like it!
