CHILDREN championed the Czech style of celebrating Christmas at Radcliffe Junior School's carol concert.
Pupils from the Coronation Road school made festive Christingle candles from the country, decorated with oranges, cocktail sticks and ribbons, to add some East European flavour to proceedings.
Modern and traditional hymns were accompanied by a glockenspiel, and parents heard youngsters recite Christmas readings, including some they had written themselves.
Continuing the international theme, they went on to wish the audience a "Merry Christmas" in languages from across the world.
And pictured standing with their Christingles are nine-year-old Sarah Gee (left) and Paige Taylor (8), with other singers from the school.
Music teacher Kate Warne said: "Everyone enjoyed it as they always do. We did worry beforehand, but on the night the children gave everything they had to make the concert a great success."
