NELSON boss John Bailey knows it is time his side start showing their true colours.

The Blues, one of the pre season favourites for promotion, have fallen away having won just once in their last 11 NWCL Division One games.

Now with Cheadle, Colne and Bootle coming up over the Christmas period, Bailey knows his side need to get going.

"We have three important games coming up and it is really time we start to put something together," said the Nelson chief.

Bailey is hoping to have a new defender from the UniBond League in time for tomorrow's home game against Cheadle.

"It is almost signed and sealed and he will be a good addition, with plenty of experience," said Bailey.

"With him, we are hoping to have one of our strongest sides out for some time. There is only Mark Smith, Mark Robinson and Chris Halstead out with long term injuries."

And the Blues will then make the trip to Colne on Boxing Day - looking to climb back above their local rivals.

"They are certainly one of the form sides and they will go into the game favourites," said Bailey. "All credit to them, they are on a good run which has bred confidence. That is what we need."
