RUBBISH infested with red ants and special fried rice which was unfit for human consumption was found at a Chinese take-away in Ramsbottom.
Lam Po Yip, who runs the Lucky Star in Bolton Street pleaded guilty at Bury Magistrates to ten different food hygiene offences.
He has been told he will not be able to reopen his business until environmental services staff are satisfied that his premises poses no health risk to customers.
Yip, of Duke Street, Colne, had failed to keep the premises clean and maintained and had no materials for hand washing, dirty containers and equipment and had dirty over clothing.
In addition he had not identified any steps in his trading activities which were critical to food safety.
All of the offences were committed in January apart from the fried rice sale which was in July.
Magistrates gave him a conditional discharge because of his financial circumstances but an order was made preventing the business from reopening until environmental health staff are sure there is no health risk.
