COLNE'S promising young winger Ben Callon has signed for Squires Gate.
The 19-year-old burst on to the NWCL Second Division scene this season and has put in a number of impressive performances down the right for the Holt House side.
"I can't understand why he would want to sign for another Second Division side," said boss John Lister.
"I think he has been sat on the bench for the first couple of games there and it is a long way to travel to Blackpool from Accrington.
"Whether they offered him a bit of money I don't know but a young lad like that can be tempted."
Lister has signed midfielder Ian Whittaker from Padiham to replace Callon.
Colne face Bacup tomorrow in what Lister says is one of the hardest fixtures.
"Bacup are one of the hardest teams to beat, they are a strange side like that. Brent Peters always has them fired up and they've only lost four this season."
Colne have won the last four games.
"We are amazed how quickly we have turned things round after a disappointing season last year.
"I got very down after the 7-0 defeat against Chadderton and wondered whether I was on the right track but the chairman and my wife convinced me to carry on.
"I made a couple of changes because there were a couple of areas that needed strengthening and now the team picks itself."
