MAGISTRATES revoked a restraining order just three months after it was made - at the request of the victim.
Lisa Sanderson asked Blackburn magistrates to lift the restriction on Gary Junior Entwistle because she wanted him to be able to be a father to their two children.
And she told the court that Entwistle, 24, of Havelock Close, Blackburn, had accepted that things were over between them and she wanted the order lifted for the sake of the children.
The restraining was imposed for an indefinite period in September for offences of harassment and assault.
Miss Sanderson said Entwistle had been released from prison in May and at that stage she had told him the relationship was over.
"He now accepts that the relationship is over and this is just for the children," she said.
"He is just pleased to be able to see his children and I want him to be a father to them."
Daniel King, defending, said he had explained to Miss Sanderson that the order could not be lifted and re-imposed if things went wrong.
"She accepts that if difficulties arise in the future she will not be able to avail herself of the protection she has enjoyed in recent months," he added.
The magistrates agreed to revoke the order and said they were satisfied that Miss Sanderson had been under no pressure and that she had evaluated the situation properly.
