Driver killed in collisionA 55-year-old man was killed after his Fiat Uno skidded and collided with a Land Rover Defender.
Peter Bruce Scott, of Lenches Road, Colne, was pronounced dead at the scene with extensive internal injuries once fire fighters had cut him free from his car's wreckage on Gisburn Road, Blacko, yesterday at about 2.30pm.
His passenger, Andrew Stephen Dwyer, 28, fractured several ribs and his sternum and was air lifted to the Royal Preston Hospital.
The Land Rover driver, George Simpson, 40, of Lane Ends, Bolton-by-Bowland, was treated for shock only.
