A PROPOSED housing development in Earby could fall at the first hurdle if councillors follow planning officers advice to refuse the application.
Cawder Construction are hoping to build five detached bungalows on 2,667 square metres of land between numbers 15 and 17 Warwick Drive.
An area of public open space would be kept at the back and through the middle of the development and the bungalows would have access off Warwick Drive.
Outline permission was granted for residential development in February 1998 but has since lapsed.
Planners said that since the first permission was granted policies had progressed and there was now an emphasis on using brownfield sites first.
They recommended refusal on the grounds that the development is contrary to local policies and is premature as the housing land allocation will be looked at as part of the Local Plan review.
