PLANS to build a two storey extension to a workshop at Wolfenden Builders Merchants Ltd, in Kelbrook, look likely to be approved by members of the West Craven Committee at their meeting next month.
The application by Wolfenden Concrete relates to part of an existing commercial/industrial estate on the edge of Kelbrook which, during recent years, has gone through a period of expansion and refurbishment.
Proposals include demolishing an existing single story office building and modifying another building currently used as a builders merchants to provide office space, industiral space and a new builders merchants.
The environment agency said it had no objection to the plans but warned the applicant to make floor levels as high as possible as the site was identified as being at risk from flooding during an extreme event.
Planning officers recommended the proposals for approval pointing out that the site is allocated as an essential employment area and already has acces in to Colne Road.
