A SLAIDBURN farmer has appeared in court charged in connection with an incident in a Clitheroe pub in which a man suffered a broken jaw.

Shaun Patrick Kenny, 22, of Standridge Farm, was sent on bail for trial at Preston Crown Court when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with wounding John Houghton with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

The court heard that Mr Houghton suffered a broken jaw in the incident and has since had titanium plates inserted in his jaw.

Conditions of bail include a ban on Kenny entering any public house in Clitheroe.
