TWO members of Pickup Bank Congregational Old Chapel have written a book chronicling 60 years of the church's history.
The tiny chapel, which has no electricity or other mains services, dates back to 1835. Harry Taylor, who wrote the book with wife Agnes, said: "We have a beautiful chapel that dates back nearly two hundred years and little has changed during that time. The book details the past 50 years of life in and around the chapel and we feel sure it will be of interest to anyone who has connections with Yate and Pickup Bank or to local historians."
Harry added: "The sales have been incredible, to date of the 100 we had on sale 91 have sold."
Proceeds from the book will go towards chapel funds. To obtain a copy go to the council information centre in Darwen Town Hall or call 01254 701543.
