WHAT on earth is happening to our beautiful countryside? After all that's gone on in the world this year, especially with the foot amd mouth disease that has hit all of the tourist industry, what has happened to people working together?
On a weekend visit to Lancashire, in the Ribble Valley, we came across a small hamlet called Sabden, where we found a delightful tea room and craft centre. I was dismayed to see on the car parking belonging to the public house a large clamping warning sign and a car clamped. We would have thought with the foot and mouth affecting rural areas as it did, people would be only too pleased to be working together.
How do people expect to recover from the bad year they must have had? It would be in their own interest to be able to work together.
It is a great shame that in such a lovely part of the Ribble Valley we came across this sort of thing and feel it is not the right way to encourage visitors.
