A FIVE-YEAR-OLD Preston boy and his family will be jetting off to warmer climes after the youngster won a national competition.
Daniel Silvester, from Longton, near Preston, won a VIP family trip to Universal Orlando in a competition organised by UCI Cinemas and Universal Orlando.
Daniel, who has been attending UCI Preston's Kids Club, Riversway, Ashton-on-Ribble, for more than two years, was picked from thousands of entrants across the UK.
The VIP prize includes a seven-day holiday to the sunshine state of Florida staying at Universal's spectacular Hard Rock Hotel. It also includes VIP tours of the movie theme park Universal Studios and Orlando's next generation theme park Islands of Adventure.
Daniel will be taking his mum, Wendy, his three-year-old brother, George, and his grandma, Sheila, on the trip.
Mrs Silvester said: "I was absolutely thrilled to hear that Daniel had won the competition - it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and feels like we have won the lottery.
"I'd always dreamt of taking the children to Florida so to have won such a spectacular holiday is a dream come true. Daniel is very excited about it."
The trip will be extra special for the youngster as the family is planning to take the trip to coincide with his sixth birthday next summer.
"It'll be a birthday he won't forget," said Mrs Silvester.
UCI Cinemas' Kids Club takes place at 11am every Saturday morning -- child tickets are £1.85 and accompanying adults go free.
