PUPILS at St Theodore's High School in Burnley competed with ten other schools to win an army inter-schools challenge.
The youngsters, who were in teams of ten, took part in the two-day challenge held at Fulwood Barracks, Preston.
Teams from Ivy Bank High, Towneley High School and Walshaw High School also took part.
They competed in a wide range of physically and mentally challenging tasks, including a timed assault course, a paintball shooting competition, first aid and command tasks, a mountain bike race and a written test.
The winning team received a sports strip of their school's choice while the top three teams from each day received bronze, silver and gold medals.
Warrant officer Dave Dukes said: "This is a fun competition which allows the students to test their own abilities as well as gain a true taste of army life.
"It's also the perfect opportunity for these young people to talk to active soldiers about the huge range of career opportunities available in today's army."
