A PRESTWICH businessman has set up on the information super highway to allow people to forge a path to enhanced career prospects.

And those looking for a change of job can hitch a lift thanks to Ryan Stephenson who has established a virtual on-line careers advisory service.

His dot com consultancy company offers careers advice, CV writing, personal skills training courses, business books and a weekly e-mail newsletter as well as other services.

Ryan (34), has set up his ProFile Career Dynamics Internet company from his home in Holyrood Road.

"Before that, I worked for a housing manufacturer and earlier I was with British Steel and involved in analysing profiles of customers."

Harnessing his experience and expertise gained during his working life, Ryan feels he is now in a prime position to advise on careers guidance and planning.

"I want to deliver advice and work techniques necessary for any career professional. Career Dynamics is also developing a free advice centre which should be on-line soon," he says.

A member of Bolton and Bury Chamber, the Prestwich businessman has carved himself a special niche on the world wide web. "I think my company is a bit of a rarity," he added. "I've worked for many companies and now, as a consultant, I feel I can put all my experience to good use.

"I really enjoy working for myself and I get a lot of job satisfaction from it," continued Ryan.

"Ideally, I want to accelerate the career of an individual while avoiding a generalist approach to careers.

"I work on particular skills which people can apply every day to build up their marketable skills."

Ryan points out that many people are working shorter hours and it is crucial, therefore, they enhance and develop their skills should they wish to change careers or to get ahead in the current job they're holding down.

"Really, the aim of my company is to accelerate the career of an individual," he explained.

"We also aim to be a one-stop information portal where people can get quick, personal attention.

"Our information library and product range is growing all the time. The focus of both is to give people personal marketing skills and professionalism required to succeed in the very fluid job market."

Ryan is the author of a book entitled "Career Magic: How To Get Employers To Work For You" which embraces the philosophy, the thinking and the advice now available on his web site.

The on-line advice centre will allow people to log on to a selection of business sectors and obtain a summary of prospects.

Those using Ryan's web site can complete a questionnaire to allow him to advise on a purely one-to-one basis.

At the same time, the Prestwich man is also linked to a Yahoo advice centre web site and provides expert advice on a range of job and career-related topics.

Ryan is confident his novel approach to career planning and guidance will make his web site a winner.

"I'm never content and I'm always looking for more hits for my web site. My basic remit is to enable people to get more out of what they already have."
