CAN your readers please solve a puzzle for me? Does anyone know how the area called Anchorsholme (near Cleveleys) got its name and when?
During my research I have been told that there was a Forest/Wood there called "Anchor Home Wood" and also it was named after the original "Anchor" Pub, which became the "New Anchor Pub" now the Lidl Store.
I would be grateful for any information that would lead to solving this question. The Anchorsholme Library has no evidence, but has given me various leads, so please someone, do you know the answer?
Mr W Rouse,
Denville Avenue,
Anchorsholme.
