BURY had revenge on their minds when they travelled to Swindon Town today - but after seven minutes found themselves two goals in arrears.
Andy Gurney opened the scoring after six minutes from 10 yards, and then Bobby Howe added a second a minute later, Shakers pulled one back before the interval through Jon Newby.
But Swindon, dominant throughout, added a third and to add to Shakers' misery Jarrett was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Last time the Shakers visited the County Ground back in January they were hammered 3-0 in what manager Andy Preece still believes was one of the poorest performances his team has ever produced.
Add to that the 3-0 home defeat in August when the Shakers were again poor and it is clear that Swindon are a bogey team.
The recent results still rankle and - boosted by the excellent 1-1 Boxing Day draw at Wigan - the Bury boss is aiming to put things right.
"We definitely owe Swindon one," said Preece before the game. "We were very poor at home against them and we were even poorer at their place last year, one of our worst performances.
"We are looking forward to the match and concentrating on putting things right."
Swindon, who sit just two points above Bury in the league, will be another searching test for the squad - though at least it is a good time to visit the Wiltshire club.
They are in disarray after Roy Evans walked out last week. Former boss Andy King returned to the hot-seat but was roundly booed by fans during Town's 0-0 Boxing Day draw with Bournemouth.
