AN application to build five detached bungalows on land at Warwick Drive, Earby, should be refused, say planning officers.
The application will be discussed by the West Craven committee on Tuesday, January 8.
The proposal relates to an area of open undeveloped land on the edge of Earby. The land is within the settlement boundary for Earby but is described as greenfield land. Officers report there is no evidence of the site having been previously developed and it is more likely to have been used for recreation.
An earlier outline permission for development of the site has lapsed and since then new guidelines have been brought in advising that greenfield land should not be developed in advance of brownfield sites identified in the council's urban housing capicity study.
