POLICE are appealing for information about an attack which happened near to the busy town centre in Haslingden.
A 24-year-old man was walking along Blackburn Road at 2.25pm on Friday when he was grabbed from behind, pulled down to the ground and kicked about his face and head.
The victim suffered bruising to the head and a cut to the left elbow.
The reason for the attack is not known and police inquiries are continuing.
But officers believe the attack may have been seen by people shopping in the sales and are urging them to get in touch and pass on any information they may have.
The attacker is described as white, 15-17 years, about 5ft 7-8ins tall, slim with cropped fair hair.
