THIS theatre's panto is always stunning and 2001's show is no exception. There are flying dragons that get up to naughty tricks and magic carpets which zoom over the audience.

Bad guy Abanazar lights up the stage. He is magnificently evil and extremely funny.

Played by illusionist Richard De Vere, the cacophony of noise he instigates from the audience is unbelievable.

His double act with Schnorbitz is show stealing (yes, it is the same dog still going 11 years after the death of Bernie Winters).

Sherrie Hewson is terrific as Widow Twankey. Her bubbly personality and jaw dropping costumes bring her part to life.

She really knows how to play to the crowd, taking them into the palm of her hand. Bobby Dazzler plays Wishy Washey in a very traditional way, which everybody loved, but some of his script needs tweaking.

The Roly Polys are still as wonderful as ever. Their tap dancing policewomen are full of fun and bring joyful chuckles from the kids.

The 'celebrities' are Tim Vincent as Aladdin, Lea Christenson as the Ring Slave and Shovell plays the Genie.

Choreography, costumes and scenery are magnificent, but the pre-recorded sound is too loud for little ears. Family fun.
