HOMES in Riley Green were left without electricity after a car skidded on an icy road and ploughed into a power line.
The incident happened around 10.30am on Saturday after a car, thought to be travelling towards Blackburn, left the road near the Royal Oak pub and hit the post, knocking it into power cables. The driver was unhurt.
Residents had to make do without electricity for about eight hours while engineers fixed a new pole.
