AIR ambulance paramedics were called in after a man was injured in a sledging accident in Edenfield yesterday.
The man, in his 30s, was with nephews and nieces in a field off Gin Croft Lane when he came off a sledge and injured his back.
Rossendale Mountain Rescue team were on the scene within minutes and gave the man, who has not been named, first aid.
The North West Air Ambulance airlifted the patient to Edenfield Cricket Club where he was transferred to a road ambulance and taken to Fairfield General Hospital.
