TONY Croft, the North Fylde athlete who suffered a heart attack at last year's Ribble Valley 10K, was back on Sunday to try again.
The over 50 veteran completed the race in 42:33 and savoured every moment.
"I remember nothing after the start of last year's race," he admitted "but one of my club-mates took a photo yards before I collapsed so it was quite a moment when I went past him at the same spot this time."
The race had always held good memories for him before, he set a PB of 33:16 in the late 80's and in May 2000, over the same course, he was 3rd in the Northern Vets Championship in 34:43.
