FOUR wins from four and top of the NFP table, Leigh Centurions couldn't be in a better frame of mind as they head for their toughest test of the season so far.

Over the next two weekends they meet two of their major rivals. This Sunday Leigh go across to the east coast for a showdown with Hull KR and then the following week it's back to Hilton Park for a Lancashire hot-pot against Rochdale.

The fast-improving Hornets may be looming large on the horizon, but it's only the Robins that Leigh are focused on at the moment.

Beaten for the first time this season at Rochdale last Sunday, Rovers are genuine contenders this time around and will push Leigh all the way at New Craven Park.

While they know they are in for a rough ride on Humberside, Leigh couldn't be happier meeting one of the top teams.

"We relish quality competition," says coach Paul Terzis. "It brings the best out of us, as we showed against Oldham.

"Hull KR are another of those quality sides but travelling over to Humberside doesn't worry us in the slightest. We're looking forward to the challenge that a trip over there presents us with. But this game is all about challenges and how you meet them."

Leigh reported no new injury worries after the Oldham game although Phil Kendrick is still an absentee with a back injury.

Dave Whittle dropped out of Sunday's team after going down with flu but he'll be back in contention along with Gareth Price and Kieron Purtill.

But the big questionmark is just when Terzis will unleash Vila Matautia on the NFP. The Samoan heavyweight has been in full training for three weeks and is close to making his debut.

But Terzis is playing his cards close to his chest. "He'll be in contention," says Terzis. "If I think he's ready and he thinks he's ready, then watch out."
