POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery at a Bury post office on Saturday morning (Dec 29).
Two men wearing balaclavas entered Limefield Post Office on Walmersley Road at 9.15am. They threatened staff with baseball bats before trying to smash the glass security shield.
The men escaped empty-handed in a red Vauxhall Nova which was later found abandoned in Park Road, near to Bury Ambulance Station.
Police are keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack. Anyone with information should contact Bury CID on 856 8150 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
