THE Peak and Northern Footpaths Society, the guardian of footpaths and bridleways in Bury, has launched a new website and e-mail address.
The society, which has footpaths inspectors throughout the region, works closely with the local authority and landowners to keep public rights of way free from obstructions and in good condition.
Society secretary Adrian Littleton, who also heads up the team which deals with footpath and bridleway problems, said: "We want walkers and horseriders in and around Bury to know what we do to keep paths open and where possible to, create new useful linking paths.
"Our new website explains how we carry out our work and even more importantly, how people can support and help us to preserve urban and rural public rights of way."
