DOZENS of young people revved-up for a fun motorsports day -- the first of its kind in Preston.
The Fun and Learning day at Preston Trax, Riversway Docklands, Preston, was organised by members of the YouthWorks project and aimed at encouraging the youngsters enthusiastic about motorsports.
With the help of a motorbike beat police officer dozens of keen motoring buffs got the chance to try their hand at driving in a safe environment and learnt how to handle, maintain and care for bikes and four-wheel drive vehicles.
From morning to mid' afternoon the youngsters enjoyed learning new stunts on the motorbikes and off-road vehicles while army chefs cooked up a tasty barbecue to help keep hunger at bay.
Amanda Wrigley, of YouthWorks, said: "The Trax facility is working with the YouthWorks project to devise enjoyable learning programmes for young people from the Avenham area.
"It is hoped this first ever event will be followed up by many more this year."
