WORK off Christmas excesses with exercise classes at St Annes YMCA.

GIRLS' football training sessions begin again at St Annes YMCA on Tuesday evenings from 6.15pm to 7.30pm. The classes, for girls aged nine to 12 years of age, start on January 8. No membership is necessary. Sessions are £1.80 for non-members.

ESSENTIAL maintenance to the Marine Lakes will see them emptied until January 14 while work to remove sand and repair concrete are completed. The model yacht lake and paddling pool will be empty at the same time for cleaning. This is following requests from the public that the lakes are not left empty over the holiday period.

FEELING stressed? Finding happiness and peace of mind through meditation is the subject of a free public talk at Blackpool Central Library, Queen Street, at 7pm on January 10.
