FED-UP residents want a CCTV system to protect their area after claiming to have suffered vandalism and abuse from youths for months.
Those living in the Park Farm Road area of Feniscowles, Blackburn, said that since the summer teenagers have damaged cars and garden property, shouted abuse and assaulted residents.
At a Parish Council meeting next Thursday they are to get together to lobby the police and the council to introduce a CCTV system, which they see as the best way to end the problems.
Parish Councillor Kasia Murphy, who is also a Park Farm Road resident, said the teenagers had nothing to do in the area but cause trouble because they were no recreational facilities for them.
Mrs Murphy said her car's wing mirror had been ripped off in the middle of the night causing £100-worth of damage. Last week she woke up to find a dent in her car's bodywork.
Her husband John, also a parish councillor, claimed he was hit in the face by one youth in an unprovoked attack.
The couple have also suffered verbal abuse and nuisance vandalism like damage to their garden.
"It's miserable and we feel we like we don't want to stop here," she said.
"I've had enough. We've had months of this and are sick of it.
"I think a camera is a great idea and we hope to discuss this at the meeting, but we need the residents to pressure for this to happen."
A spokeswoman for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council said this would be a matter for the police because it was not a council estate.
Nobody in charge of policing in the southern Blackburn area was available to comment.
The meeting takes place on Friday, January 11, at York Terrace Community Hall, Feniscowles from 7.30pm.
