JOHN Bailey is after a confidence-building start to the new year as Nelson are still desperate for a win.
A late 4-3 loss to Bootle over the Christmas period was a blow to the Blues who are suffering this term after two seasons challenging for promotion.
They have won just one of their last 12 NWCL Division Two encounters and must try and turn their season around at Stone Dominoes tomorrow.
"We are getting punished for individual mistakes which has been the story of our season so far," said the Blues chief Bailey.
"We are matching teams, it could go either way, and then we are punished.
"I cannot fault our effort or endeavour it is just we need a win to build confidence. We are lacking that at the moment."
The one good thing so far is the introduction of Mickey Bartholomew from Stand who scored a brace against Bootle.
"It was good to get him off the mark. Hopefully he will find the back of the net a few more times now!"
