DOES any reader know of another holiday town in Britain besides Blackpool in which streets are filthier than in a third world country.

The council fails to remove bin bags of rotting, stinking refuse from back streets; where public conveniences are shut down because they fail to meet the most basic of hygiene standards; where town hall finances are in such a parlous state that for the council to survive it is dependant on skimming off part of the money granted to local schools; and at the same time most of the local electorate are quite happy to accept it all?
