A TERRIFIED girl leaped from a speeding car in a shocking abduction attempt.
Eleven-year-old Karin Brown bruised her back and legs as she jumped from the vehicle in Fern Grove, Bury, on Sunday evening (Dec 30).
And a friend has told the Bury Times how she watched her pal being dragged kicking and screaming to the vehicle.
Amy Harding, aged 12, said: "We were walking up Fern Grove when we passed a man fiddling about with the parcel shelf of his car.
"He just grabbed Karin and pulled her into the car. She was screaming and struggling. I was very scared and ran to get help."
Karin, from Kearsley, Bolton, said she first spotted the man coming out of a house in Fern Grove.
"Then he suddenly grabbed me from behind, picked me up and put me in the boot of his car. He said nothing to me and I said nothing to him.
"I kept kicking against the boot and he didn't shut it properly because my legs were in the way."
Police are looking for a red hatchback, which the victim recollects as having a bent aerial with tinsel attached.
Detective Sergeant Bill Gresty of Bury CID said: "The consequences of this attack could have been far more severe, which is why I would like to warn parents in the Bury area to be extra vigilant."
