LEON Cotton left Darwen in 1999 but he still yearns for the 'pink cakes' from Warren & Shaw bakers on Blackburn Road.
Leon lived at Hollins Grove and went to Avondale School. He now lives with his grandma Barbara Thompson in Girvan, Ayrshire. Barbara said: "He still says how much he misses the cherry and almond slices -- every time we visit Darwen we always call in to buy 'pink cakes'.
Barbara added: "We received a Christmas card from Linda at the shop and she had illustrated one of the cakes at the bottom, which I thought was a lovely touch.
Leon stocked up on cakes during a visit to his other grandparents who still live in Darwen.
