WOULD-be pop idols from Alder Grange High School in Rawtenstall showed off their talents in the school's own competition.
Hot on the heels of the popular TV programme, the school organised its own talent show with heats held every lunchtime for a week.
The pupils showed off their talents from singing and dancing to performing magic.
The final was judged by Coun Lawrence Forshaw, chairman of Governors, Vicki Egan, who supplied the karaoke music, and Danny Williams, a former student, musician and composer.
The six finalists were: Puppeteers: Jenny Broadhurst and Lewis Elliot; Sisters a drama written and performed by Donna and Kimberley Chadwick; Charmed a dance act featuring Michelle Hargreaves, Katy Hamer and Charlotte Coulston; singer Lee Chadwick; Ginger Magicians, Paddy O'Neill and Matt Crook; keyboard player and composer Sam Doyle.
There was also entertainment provided by 14-year-old Sophie Banham who danced and sang 'Baby Hit Me One More Time' by Britney Spears
The winner was Lee Chadwick, 12, who impressed everyone with his rendition of a song from the musical 'Joseph' accompanied by Mrs Anne Falconer on the piano.
