A LAST gasp goal by substitute Steve Pickup meant Great Harwood forced a replay in the quarter-final of the Worthington Challenge Trophy against NWCL Division One high fliers Kidsgrove.
But boss Denis Underwood was disappointed he had to rely on a late show after his side had stormed into a 2-0 in the first 20 minutes.
Full back Andrew Proctor had made a great run and set up Graham Lightbown to open the scoring after ten minutes.
And it was two ten minutes later when good work from Lightbown and James Coonan set up Ryan Staniland who forced the ball home.
Kidgrove began to get back into it without causing Harwood keeper Russell Whalley any real problems but a free kick on the stroke of half time got the visitors back into it.
They then found their feet in the second half, equalising ten minutes after the restart and then going ahead with 70 minutes on the clock.
Whalley pulled off some stunning saves to keep his side in it and the Harwood, always a danger from free kicks and corners, forced the replay when Pickup volleyed home from 20 yards.
The replay is next Tuesday at Kidsgrove where the winners face Warrington or St Helens in the semi-finals.
