AFTER reading your article on the safety blitz on taxis (LET, December 22), I am pleased that so many dangerous ones have been taken off the roads.

But I'm curious to know how taxis manage to acquire a valid MoT certificate when it is obvious they are in such unroadworthy condition.

The public pay to ride in cabs, so the least they should expect is that they are safe and reliable.
