REGARDING "great gritting debate," I do not know which roads Judith Moss (Letters, January 7) refers to, but the main roads and side roads that I encountered over Christmas and New Year were treacherous, which I found totally unacceptable.
I feel that I have everything to complain about.
On Saturday evening, December 29, a 10-minute trip took me two hours to complete.
To be fair, the weather did deteriorate later in the day, but this is where I feel the council and the gritting services were caught out.
Surely, they must have been aware of the freezing conditions as the day was deteriorating rapidly.
Is it not time we had the services of 2002 and not 1960?
