LEIGH Centurions have lost their appeal for two competitions points from their abandoned game at Hull KR last Sunday and must replay the game.
But Rovers have been blamed for their part in the floodlight failure fiasco and have been given a £1,000 suspended fine.
The Rugby League's Board of Directors made their decision late yesterday after considering reports from both Hull KR and Leigh Centurions as well as match referee Stuart Cummings and match commissioner Gerry Kershaw.
Nigel Wood, the Rugby Football League's Operations Manager and an Executive member of the Board of Directors, said: "As the match had been in progress for a little over 50 minutes and the score was comparatively close at 14-2 for Leigh we felt the fixture should be replayed. We have to respect the integrity of the competition."
The RFL Board has instructed that the original game should be expunged from the records and that clubs should agree a date for the staging of the re-arranged game.
Hull KR have been given a suspended £1,000 fine for their failure to ensure that the floodlights were in full working order.
